The Chicago Blackhawks spoiled the Montreal Canadiens' chances of clinching a playoff spot, defeating them 4-3 in a shootout. The loss puts Montreal's playoff hopes in jeopardy, with the team now just four points ahead of the Columbus Blue Jackets for the second Wild Card spot.




Montreal's playoff position is precarious, and they risk losing their spot if they don't win in regulation and Columbus wins their final two games. Juraj Slafkovský scored a crucial game-tying goal for the Canadiens after Chicago took a 3-2 lead with three consecutive goals. However, the Blackhawks' Frank Nazar scored the winning shot in the shootout, securing the win for his team. The loss was a disappointing end to rookie Ivan Demidov's debut with the Canadiens.


Red Wings' Late Surge Secures Win

The Detroit Red Wings staged a remarkable late rally, scoring four goals in the third period to secure a 6-4 win over the Dallas Stars. Lucas Raymond and Moritz Seider both had three-point games, with each contributing one goal and two assists in the period. Despite being eliminated from playoff contention, the Red Wings ended their season on a high note. The Red Wings will play back-to-back games against the New Jersey Devils and Toronto Maple Leafs, while the Stars will face the Nashville Predators in their final regular-season game.
