NBA Hall of Famer Jason Kidd joins Everton's ownership group, bringing new investment and excitement to the Premier League club. Read more about his role.

NBA Hall of Famer and Dallas Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd has joined Everton's ownership group, the Premier League club announced. He becomes part of Roundhouse Capital Holdings, which is affiliated with The Friedkin Group that acquired the club in December. With a decorated career spanning nearly two decades in the NBA, Kidd won a championship with the Mavericks in 2011, earned 10 All-Star selections, and secured two Olympic gold medals.

“I'm honoured to be joining Everton's ownership at such an important moment: with a new stadium on the horizon and a bright future ahead, it's a great moment to come on board,” Kidd said in a statement.

Everton recently secured a long-term financing deal for their new 52,888-capacity stadium, refinancing existing borrowing with a £350 million ($465.96 million) funding agreement. This development comes as the club, under David Moyes' management since January, has improved their season and currently sits 13th in the standings. The new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock is set to be ready for the 2025-26 season.

In related news, Everton announced that Christopher Sarofim, chairman of Fayez Sarofim & Co, has joined Roundhouse Capital Holdings as a board observer. This addition follows Jason Kidd's recent involvement with the ownership group, signaling continued investment and support for the club's future.
