De Bruyne Confirms Manchester City Exit, Ending Illustrious 10-Year Spell

Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has confirmed his departure from the club, leaving behind a legacy as one of the Premier League's greatest players.

Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has announced that he will be leaving the club at the end of the season. De Bruyne, who has spent 10 years with the team, revealed his decision on social media, stating, “whether you like it or not, it's time to say goodbye.”

In his announcement, De Bruyne expressed his sentiments about departing from Manchester City, saying, “These will be my final months as a Manchester City player.” He acknowledged the difficulty of sharing the news, adding, “Nothing about this is easy to write but as football players we all know this day eventually comes.”

De Bruyne emphasized his desire to personally share the news with his fans, stating, “That day is here – and you deserve to hear it from me first.” This announcement marks the end of an era for De Bruyne at Manchester City, concluding a decade-long tenure with the club.

Kevin De Bruyne will depart Manchester City as a legendary figure in the club's history and the Premier League as a whole. Since joining the club in 2015, he has made 413 appearances and scored 106 goals. His impressive tenure has been marked by numerous triumphs, including six Premier League titles, two FA Cups, five League Cups, and one Champions League.

De Bruyne's individual accolades are equally impressive, with a record number of assists in Premier League history, surpassed only by Ryan Giggs. He is also one of only four players to have been named the Premier League's Player of the Season twice. In a heartfelt message, De Bruyne expressed his gratitude to those who have supported him throughout his Manchester City journey, saying, “We cannot thank the city, club, staff, teammates, friends, and family enough for this 10-year ride.”

De Bruyne reflected on the significance of his time at Manchester City, describing it as “the best chapter” of his story. He encouraged fans to cherish the remaining moments of his tenure, saying, “Every story comes to an end, but this has definitely been the best chapter. Let's enjoy these last moments together!” The 33-year-old midfielder is expected to continue his career elsewhere, with rumors linking him to clubs in the Saudi Pro League and MLS. A move to one of these leagues appears more likely than a transfer to another European club.
