Manchester City Leapfrog Liverpool in Pursuit of Real Madrid's Rodrygo

Manchester City have reportedly moved ahead of Liverpool in the chase for Real Madrid attacker Rodrygo Goes, with talks held between the club and the player's father.

Manchester City have reportedly taken the lead in the pursuit of Real Madrid's Rodrygo Goes, with Liverpool also said to be interested in the attacker. According to recent developments, Manchester City have made significant strides in their efforts to sign the Brazilian player.

The father of Rodrygo Goes has allegedly engaged in discussions with Manchester City, as reported by Eduardo Inda, the chief pundit of Okdiaro, on the Spanish television program El Chiringuito. This revelation suggests that Manchester City are actively working to secure the services of the talented Real Madrid attacker.

According to reports, Manchester City are making a move for Real Madrid's Rodrygo, a player who has long been linked with Liverpool. Spanish journalist Inda revealed that Rodrygo's father has been in talks with Manchester City representatives. “They tell me that the father of Rodrygo Goes,” Inda began. “The entourage denies it, but they tell me that he's gone to talk.”

Inda provided further details about the discussions between Rodrygo's father and Manchester City. “He saw people from Manchester City a few weeks ago, and they insist that he go play with Pep Guardiola,” Inda explained. Manchester City are reportedly offering Rodrygo the opportunity to play on the left flank, a position that he and his father prefer. “They offer him to play on the left flank, which is what the kid and the father want.”

Inda also highlighted the potential benefits of Rodrygo joining Manchester City, particularly in terms of playing time. “Real Madrid cannot guarantee this playing chance because it is for Vinicius and Mbappe,” Inda noted. In contrast, Manchester City are reportedly willing to offer Rodrygo a starting role on the left flank, as well as a more lucrative contract. “At City, they would offer to play him in this position and give him more money.”

It's worth noting that Rodrygo's current contract with Real Madrid runs until 2028, which could potentially complicate any transfer negotiations with Manchester City.
