EPL: Arsenal Deny Manchester United Victory with 1-1 Draw

Manchester United's winning drought continued as Arsenal's Declan Rice scored a late equalizer to seal a 1-1 draw in the Premier League.

Arsenal managed to salvage a 1-1 draw against Manchester United in the Premier League, marking the second consecutive encounter between the two teams to end in a stalemate. This result halted Manchester United's four-match losing streak in league meetings against Arsenal.

Arsenal, fresh from their impressive midweek win over PSV Eindhoven, started brightly and almost took an early lead when Mikel Merino's shot narrowly missed the target in the 10th minute. Although Alejandro Garnacho posed occasional threats down the right flank, Arsenal largely dominated the early stages but struggled to breach Manchester United's defense. Martin Ødegaard's long-range effort was saved by André Onana, while Thomas Partey's attempt from outside the box also failed to find the net.

As the first half progressed, Leandro Trossard fired wide after an improvised touch, and his subsequent attempt from Ødegaard's dinked pass was comfortably saved by Onana. Despite offering little attacking threat for most of the first half, Manchester United took the lead just before halftime. Garnacho won a free-kick, which Bruno Fernandes expertly converted into the top corner with United's first shot on target in the match.

Ayden Heaven made his Premier League debut for Manchester United after joining from Arsenal in January, replacing a player during the half-time break. The 18-year-old quickly settled into the game. Meanwhile, Arsenal continued to create opportunities from corner kicks, but Martin Ødegaard and Declan Rice were both denied by André Onana.

Manchester United's wing-backs combined effectively, as Diogo Dalot found Noussair Mazraoui, who forced a spectacular save from Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya. Raya then made another crucial stop, this time denying an instinctive flick from Zirkzee. At the other end, Leandro Trossard's attempt went harmlessly wide. However, Declan Rice eventually provided the clinical finish Arsenal had been seeking, scoring with a first-time effort from Jurriën Timber's pass that rebounded off the post.

The match ultimately ended 1-1, as neither team could find a winning goal. André Onana palmed Gabriel Martinelli's strike past the post, while Rice and Gabriel Magalhães made crucial interventions to deny Rasmus Højlund. In stoppage time, David Raya made a brilliant save to thwart Bruno Fernandes, ensuring the match ended in a draw. This result marked Arsenal's second consecutive draw in the Premier League, leaving them 15 points behind leaders Liverpool. For Manchester United, this was their third draw in four matches across all competitions, which was sufficient to move them up one place in the standings.
