Manchester City Complete Signing of Argentine Wonderkid Claudio Echeverri

Manchester City has confirmed the signing of Argentine midfielder Claudio Echeverri, who joins from River Plate on a contract until June 2028.



Manchester City has confirmed the arrival of Argentine midfielder Claudio Echeverri, who will be available for selection for the remainder of the season. Echeverri initially signed with City in January last year but remained on loan at River Plate until last month. The 19-year-old has already gained valuable experience, captaining Argentina's Under-20 team at the South American Championship.




Echeverri's impressive performances at the tournament earned him recognition, as he scored six goals in nine games and led Argentina to the final, where they ultimately lost to Paraguay. At the club level, Echeverri has made 48 appearances for River Plate, scoring four goals. He has committed to Manchester City until June 2028.




Echeverri expressed his excitement about joining Manchester City, stating, “I cannot tell you how excited I am to be here in Manchester and to finally be able to call myself a Manchester City player.” The Argentine wonderkid will now have the opportunity to integrate into the team and potentially make his debut in the near future. Manchester City's next match is against Plymouth Argyle in the FA Cup fifth round on Saturday.
