Luis Enrique Warns PSG of Tough Test Against Lyon

PSG manager Luis Enrique says his team needs to be at a 'very high level' to win against Lyon, who pose a significant threat to their unbeaten run.

Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique has warned his team to expect a challenging match against Olympique Lyonnais in Ligue 1 on Sunday. Despite PSG's recent impressive form, which includes a 7-0 thrashing of Brest in the Champions League, Enrique is cautious about the upcoming encounter. Lyon, who appointed Paulo Fonseca as their new coach last month, have shown signs of improvement, winning their last two league matches and scoring eight goals in the process.

Luis Enrique acknowledged the potential difficulties of facing Lyon, saying, “Of course, it will be difficult. They recently changed their coach, so they are still working on their connections, but an away game is always complicated; we know the strengths of this team which knows how to vary its play well.” Enrique's comments highlight the respect he has for Lyon's abilities and the challenges they pose, particularly in an away match.

Enrique further emphasized the importance of being prepared for the match, stating, “Lyon is one of the best teams in the league, and they are also in Europe. We expect a tough match. We need to be at a very high level to play well and win.” By acknowledging Lyon's strengths and the potential difficulties of the match, Enrique is ensuring that his team is mentally prepared for the challenge ahead.
