Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou expressed his satisfaction after his team edged past non-league Tamworth in the FA Cup third round. The match went into extra time before Spurs secured a 3-0 win, thanks to an own goal from Nathan Tshikuna and strikes from Dejan Kulusevski and Brennan Johnson. Postecoglou acknowledged the challenges posed by Tamworth, saying, “It was a challenging game as we expected it to be. They made it hard for us, with the surface it was about us staying calm and being persistent in our football. In the end, we got the job done.”


Postecoglou revealed his message to the team going into extra time, emphasizing the importance of remaining calm and persistent. “Stay calm and persistent,” he told his players. “We knew we would finish strong, and you could see they were tiring a bit.” Postecoglou acknowledged the risks involved in playing against lower-league opposition, saying, “It's a game of football you go into it with trepidation and knowing you can slip up with the challenges.”
