Pereira Reveals Wolves' Transfer Plans, Hopes to Add 'More Solutions'

Wolves manager Vitor Pereira has expressed his hope to make signings before the transfer window closes, revealing the club is working hard to bring in new talent, particularly in midfield and defense.

Wolves boss Vitor Pereira provided updates on his team's injury situation ahead of their match against Chelsea on Monday. Pereira revealed that Matheus Cunha missed training due to illness, saying: “Today he was out of the training because he got the flu, he’s a bit sick and I hope tomorrow he will be on the pitch. Then it’s a possibility to be in the next game.” He also provided updates on other players, stating: “(Nelson) Semedo is training and Toti is recovering well, I believe in one week, maybe (he will be ready).”

Pereira also shared updates on Boubacar Traore and Sasa Kalajdzic, saying: “Boubacar (Traore) is working with us now, Sasa (Kalajdzic) is working with the medical department.” The Wolves manager then addressed the situation surrounding midfielder Mario Lemina, who had requested to leave the club.

Pereira revealed that Lemina had apologized to him and the team for his actions. “What I learned in my life, if we speak every time truly then we don’t have problems. Because what happens?” Pereira explained. He recalled Lemina's previous request to be excluded from a game due to mental health concerns, saying: “Last time I came to the press conference I thought he was in for the game, then he asked me to be out of the game because mentally he wasn’t in conditions (to play).”

Pereira praised Lemina's apology and commitment to the team, saying: “Today he came to me, he asked to apologise to me and the team. He said he is ready to do his best for the team until we have a solution and decision. This is the way he must behave. We are professional, the club pay the salaries which means I should come here with energy to help until the last day.”

Wolves manager Vitor Pereira is hopeful that the club can make some signings before the transfer window closes. He expressed his optimism, saying: “I hope so, we are working, we are doing our work. I hope before the market closes we can receive one or two players at least.” Pereira's comments suggest that the club is actively working to bring in new talent.

When asked about the type of player Wolves are targeting, Pereira provided some insight into the club's needs. “More solutions, more solutions to help,” he said. “I’m very happy with the team and players I have, but we need more solutions in midfield, maybe another defender.” Pereira emphasized the importance of finding the right players, rather than simply making signings for the sake of it.

Pereira also acknowledged that the club's transfer plans are dependent on finding the right players. “We are trying to understand the market, it depends what we find,” he said. “If we find the right players to bring – ok. If not, it is better to bring in no one.” This cautious approach suggests that Wolves are prioritizing quality over quantity in their transfer dealings.
