Nuno Espirito Santo Provides Update on Callum Hudson-Odoi Injury and Transfer Plans
Nottingham Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo discusses the latest team news, including an update on Callum Hudson-Odoi's injury, and sets high standards for any potential January signings.
Nottingham Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo provided a team news update in his latest press conference, ahead of the weekend's match against Brighton. Nuno revealed that Callum Hudson-Odoi will be out of action, saying, “Callum (Hudson-Odoi) is out, Callum is not going to be involved in the game. He is a big absence for us.” However, Nuno did offer some positive news, confirming that Ibrahim Sangare and Danilo are ready to join the squad. He added, “The rest is basically the same. Ibrahim Sangare and Danilo are ready, they joined the squad.”
Nuno also provided an update on Hudson-Odoi's injury, stating, “We're still assessing Callum. It is something we are hoping will improve soon but he is not going to be ready for this weekend.” The Nottingham Forest manager was then asked about potential transfers, with the January transfer window nearing its close. Nuno emphasized that any new signings would need to be special, saying, “We just finished a training session, this is what is important. People at the club are working on what they have to work on and we are focused on preparing the team.”

Nuno explained that any new additions to the squad would need to bring a unique quality, stating, “Someone coming to give us help has to be someone different and has to fit in the squad. Someone that brings a different option, a different solution. That was our approach as the coaching staff and then the club has to work.” He acknowledged the challenges of operating in the January transfer window, saying, “It is not easy to operate in this transfer window but it is always the same. Someone has to be special.”
