Shootout Thrillers

The Ottawa Senators emerged victorious in a high-scoring thriller against the Boston Bruins, winning 6-5 in a penalty shootout. The game was a back-and-forth affair, with Ottawa taking an early 2-0 lead, only for Boston to respond with two goals of their own in the first period. The Bruins took a 3-2 lead in the second, but the Senators tied it up with a power-play goal from Josh Norris (16). Boston then scored two straight to take a 5-3 lead, but Ottawa refused to give up, with Nick Jensen (3) and Josh Norris (17) scoring to tie the game at 5-5 and send it to overtime. Tim Stützle ultimately scored the winning goal in the shootout, securing the Senators' fourth win in their last five games.

In a stark contrast to the Ottawa-Boston game, the New York Rangers edged the Columbus Blue Jackets 1-0 in a low-scoring affair that also required a shootout. Finally, the Utah Hockey Club - also known as the Utah Grizzlies' NHL affiliate, the Utah-based minor league hockey team - was not actually involved in the match but rather the Seattle Kraken took down the St. Louis Blues 4-2.
