Neymar's Future Uncertain as Al Hilal Discussions Hit Roadblock
Neymar's exit talks with Al Hilal have stalled due to his high financial demands. Read more about the Brazilian star's uncertain future.
Neymar, the 32-year-old Brazilian football star, is engaged in exit talks with Saudi club Al Hilal. However, a significant hurdle remains: his substantial financial demands.
Neymar's time at Al Hilal has been marred by injuries, with the former Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain forward making only seven appearances despite reportedly earning a staggering $104 million (£84m) per year.
A club source, speaking on condition of anonymity, revealed that “Neymar is negotiating his departure, but his high financial expectations are a major stumbling block.” Neymar's contract with Al Hilal is set to expire in June.
Reports from Brazil indicate that Santos, Neymar's former club, is in discussions to bring him back to his homeland. Nevertheless, Al Hilal prefers a transfer, while Neymar is pushing for a loan deal.
Al Hilal's coach, Jorge Jesus, recently expressed concerns about Neymar's performance, stating: “He can no longer play at the level we are used to. Things have become difficult for him, unfortunately.”
A potential return to Brazil may be Neymar's last opportunity to revive his career. Notably, Neymar is Brazil's all-time leading scorer, having netted 79 goals in 127 matches for his country.
