Mourinho's Fenerbahce Severely Weakened for Decisive Europa League Match

Fenerbahce faces a severe crisis ahead of their Europa League match against FC Midtjylland, with several key players out due to injury and suspension, and coach Jose Mourinho serving a touchline ban.

Fenerbahce is facing a significant challenge ahead of their Europa League clash against FC Midtjylland in Denmark, with several key players unavailable due to suspension and injury. Osayi-Samuel and Sofyan Amrabat are suspended, while Dominik Livakovic, Jayden Oosterwolde, Rodrigo Becao, and Mert Müldür are all sidelined with injuries. Furthermore, recent signings Diego Carlos, Anderson Talisca, and Milan Skriniar are not eligible to play for Fenerbahce in the tournament.

Coach Jose Mourinho will also be absent from the touchline, serving a suspension for the match. Mourinho acknowledged the difficulties his team is facing, stating, “We are in trouble at this moment to qualify. Nine points may or may not be enough. It's still in our hands, but right now, in Europe, it's difficult for us because we are short of players.”

Mourinho emphasized the importance of securing a positive result against FC Midtjylland, saying, “The only thing I know is that we have to go to Midtjylland and we have to fight for a result to qualify. We will go with 11 players; I don't think we will have many more. We don't have right-backs, we don't have left-backs, we don't have midfielders, but we will have 11 guys fighting for the result, and I'm hopeful that we can do it.”

Mourinho stressed that Fenerbahce cannot rely on other teams' results to advance, saying, “We cannot be waiting for a combination of other results; we have to go for our result, and we will.” Fenerbahce currently sits second in the Turkish top-flight, behind champions Galatasaray, who are ninth in the Europa League table.
