Marmoush Omitted from Frankfurt Squad as Manchester City Transfer Rumors Intensify

Eintracht Frankfurt's Omar Marmoush has been left out of the squad amid transfer talks with Manchester City, who are reportedly willing to pay up to €80m for the Egyptian forward.

Eintracht Frankfurt has omitted forward Omar Marmoush from their squad for Friday's match against Borussia Dortmund due to ongoing “transfer talks with another club.” The club announced the decision on social media just hours before the game, citing the transfer negotiations as the reason for Marmoush's exclusion.

Marmoush, 25, has been heavily linked with a winter transfer to Manchester City after an impressive first half of the season. The forward has scored 15 goals in 17 league games, just one fewer than league leader Harry Kane, and has also provided 10 assists. His performances have reportedly caught the attention of Manchester City, who are rumored to be interested in signing him.

Eintracht Frankfurt confirmed the transfer talks in a statement, saying: “Eintracht Frankfurt is currently in talks with another club for the transfer of Omar Marmoush. The player is therefore not part of the team today.” The announcement suggests that Marmoush's future at the club is uncertain, and a transfer may be imminent.

Omar Marmoush joined Eintracht Frankfurt on a free transfer from Wolfsburg in the summer of 2023. Since then, he has established himself as a key player for the team, impressing with his goal-scoring ability and creativity on the pitch.

Reports from German and international media outlets suggest that Manchester City, who are currently struggling in the Premier League, are interested in signing Marmoush. The English champions, who sit 12 points behind leaders Liverpool, are reportedly willing to pay a significant transfer fee for the Egyptian forward. According to the reports, Manchester City are set to pay up to 80 million euros (£67.5m) for Marmoush.
