Manchester United Coach Rúben Amorim Explains Decision to Let Zirkzee Go
Manchester United coach Rúben Amorim has opened up about the decision to let Josh Zirkzee leave the club, citing the need to prioritize the team's interests.
According to Manchester United manager Amorim, the decision was not taken lightly, but ultimately, it was necessary to bring in another midfielder to strengthen the team. “You have to think about the team, and also sometimes about the player as the player was suffering,” Amorim explained. “I felt the team was suffering and needed another midfielder, that's it.”
Despite the tough decision, Amorim was full of praise for Zirkzee, describing him as “a really good lad.” The coach assured that the club will continue to support Zirkzee, even though he is no longer with the team. “We will support him and keep going,” Amorim said.
Ruben Amorim also revealed that he had a personal conversation with Zirkzee to explain the reasoning behind the decision. “It was really tough for me to do that, but I've spoken to Josh as it was important to express the message. We needed Josh to go out, for the team,” Amorim explained.
The decision to let Zirkzee go may have been difficult, but Amorim is confident that it was the right one for the team. As Manchester United continues to push for success, the coach's focus remains on building a strong and competitive squad.
