Kyren Wilson produced a scintillating display to defeat world number one Judd Trump 6-3 in the semi-finals of the Masters at Alexandra Palace on Saturday evening. This victory ended Trump's ambitions of winning all four major titles in a single season. Wilson's impressive performance set up a thrilling final against Shaun Murphy, who had earlier defeated Mark Allen 6-3, highlighted by a stunning 147 break.


Wilson's dominance was underscored by a series of impressive breaks, including 61, 89, 60, 76, 88, and 85, culminating in a spectacular century break to seal the win. Reflecting on his victory, Wilson expressed his delight, saying, “Delighted to make my second Masters final. I said to Trump: 'what an atmosphere' before we started tonight. It gave me goosebumps.”



Wilson acknowledged the challenge posed by Trump, stating, “Judd is so, so hard to beat. I really had to dig in today. I wasn't 100 per cent, but thanks to the crowd.” Looking ahead to the final, Wilson expressed his enthusiasm for facing Shaun Murphy, saying, “Shaun has been playing incredibly all week. I'm really looking forward to it.”


The stage is now set for an exciting final between Wilson and Murphy, scheduled to take place at 14:00 CET on Sunday in London. Wilson will aim to claim the £350,000 top prize and etch his name on the Masters trophy.
