Paris Saint-Germain has completed the signing of Georgian winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia from Napoli in a deal worth £71m, with the 23-year-old signing a contract until 2029.



Paris Saint-Germain has completed the signing of Georgian forward Khvicha Kvaratskhelia from Napoli, the Ligue 1 club announced on Friday. The 23-year-old has joined the French champions on a deal that will keep him at the club until 2029. Although the financial details of the transfer were not officially disclosed, media reports suggest that PSG paid a fee of 70 million euros ($71.93 million) plus add-ons.


“PSG are delighted to announce the signing of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia,” the Parisian club said in a statement. The club expressed their excitement at welcoming the young Georgian winger, who will wear the number 7 shirt. Notably, Kvaratskhelia becomes the first Georgian player in PSG's history, marking a significant milestone for the club.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia's transfer to Paris Saint-Germain comes after he failed to reach an agreement with Napoli to extend his contract, which was set to expire in 2027. The Georgian winger had requested to leave the club last week, paving the way for his move to the French capital. Kvaratskhelia had previously been linked with a move to PSG during the close season, but he opted to stay at Napoli for another season under the guidance of new coach Antonio Conte.

Al-Khelaifi also expressed his admiration for Kvaratskhelia's determination to join PSG, stating: “Khvicha was so determined to be part of our great club. I know he will achieve all his goals with us.” Kvaratskhelia has already made a significant impact this season, scoring five goals and providing three assists in 19 matches across all competitions. The Georgian winger bid farewell to Napoli on Thursday and is eager to start his new chapter at PSG. “It's a dream to be here. I've heard so many positive things about PSG,” Kvaratskhelia said. “I feel immense pride in joining this great club and I'm really looking forward to wearing my new colours.”
