Denmark maintained their perfect record in the World Cup with a dominant 39-20 win over Italy, while France, Sweden, Qatar, Iceland, and Tunisia also secured victories in their respective matches.

Reigning champions Denmark maintained their perfect record in the World Cup tournament with a convincing 39-20 victory over Italy in Herning on Saturday night. This win marked Denmark's third consecutive triumph in the competition. Italy had begun the game with confidence, having secured two straight wins, and initially held Denmark to a 4-4 tie.

However, Denmark's true quality soon became apparent, and they began to dominate the game. Emil Nielsen, Denmark's goalkeeper, played a crucial role in the first half, achieving a 50% save rate and helping his team to establish a strong lead. By halftime, Denmark had extended their advantage to double digits, leaving Italy in need of a miraculous comeback to avoid defeat.

The second half began on a challenging note for Denmark, as Magnus Landin was given a red card for a rough challenge on Simone Mengon. Italy capitalized on this opportunity, scoring twice to reduce the deficit to 10-18. Nevertheless, Denmark's superiority soon became apparent once again, as players like Jakobsen and Simon Pytlick continued to excel. Both Jakobsen and Pytlick finished the game with nine goals each, helping Denmark to secure a 19-goal victory.

Denmark will now enter the main round with four points, having maintained their perfect record in the tournament. Other notable results from the day include France's 35-27 win over Austria, which also earned them four points heading into the main round. Sweden overcame initial difficulties to defeat Chile 42-30, while Qatar secured a main round spot with a 25-22 victory over Kuwait. Iceland dominated Cuba 40-19, and Tunisia edged out Algeria 26-25 in a closely contested match.
