Brentford manager Thomas Frank is feeling optimistic ahead of his team's clash with Liverpool on Saturday. Frank wants his side to build on their impressive 2-2 comeback draw against Manchester City in midweek. The Bees staged a remarkable recovery, with late goals from Yoane Wissa and Christian Norgaard securing a valuable point against the reigning champions.
Frank expressed his confidence in his team's abilities, saying, “I think it was a good indicator for how even a match it was.” He acknowledged the challenge posed by Liverpool but emphasized his desire to see his team replicate their performance against Manchester City. “Of course we will try to do the same against Liverpool,” Frank stated. “It will be difficult.”
Frank reflected on the positives from the Manchester City match, highlighting his team's bravery and determination. “I think for me and for us the performance was so good in terms of the way we want to do it,” he said. “We were brave playing out but also brave in high pressure, brave in a lot of other phases, and I think we need to be brave again on Saturday.”
Thomas Frank addressed the ongoing transfer rumors surrounding Bryan Mbeumo, including speculation linking him to Liverpool, their upcoming opponents. Frank commented on the potential transfer fee, saying: “It would be that big a fee (to tempt a deal) that I can't imagine the size of the fee.”

Frank emphasized his expectation that Mbeumo will remain with the team, stating: “I'm not even focused on keeping the best players, I'm just expecting them to stay.” He also touched on the possibility of bringing in new players, adding: “And adding? We are always in the market. We don't have urgency to bring new players in, but of course, we are aware if we suddenly need some.”
