Argentine Youngster Aaron Anselmino Begins Life at Chelsea After Recall from Boca Juniors Loan
Chelsea has recalled Argentine centre-back Aaron Anselmino from his loan spell at Boca Juniors, with the 19-year-old set to begin his journey at Cobham.
Chelsea's promising Argentine centre-back, Aaron Anselmino, has commenced his journey at Cobham, the club's training facility, following his recall from a loan spell at Boca Juniors. The 19-year-old defender joined Chelsea from Boca Juniors last summer in a deal reportedly worth £17 million but was immediately loaned back to the Argentine club to continue his development.
However, Chelsea has opted to bring Anselmino back to Cobham, with no immediate plans to send him out on loan again. The decision aims to help the young defender settle into the club's setup and adapt to English football.
Before Anselmino's departure from Boca Juniors, the club's president, Juan Roman Riquelme, praised the youngster's growth and potential. “He has developed a lot,” Riquelme told ESPN. “With the growth, the head that he has, and the desire to learn that he shows, he is on his way to being a great footballer. He is going to be a player for the national team. He is going to compete with the centre-backs.”
