Conte Confident in Napoli Squad Ahead of Genoa Test

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is available for Napoli's Serie A clash against Genoa, providing a timely boost for Antonio Conte's side.

Napoli manager Antonio Conte has confirmed that winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia will be available for selection in their upcoming Serie A match against Genoa. Conte delivered the positive update on Friday, boosting Napoli's chances of securing a crucial win as they continue their push for the title.

Kvaratskhelia, 23, had been nursing a sprained right knee sustained during Napoli's recent loss to Lazio. However, the Georgian winger has made a swift recovery, and Conte has given him the green light to face Genoa on Saturday.

Napoli currently occupies second place in the Serie A standings with 35 points, trailing leaders Atalanta by just two points. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has been instrumental in Napoli's success, contributing five goals and three assists in 15 Serie A appearances this season.

Manager Antonio Conte confirmed Kvaratskhelia's availability for the upcoming match against Genoa, stating, “Kvara trained with us yesterday and looked more relaxed today. He's available and it's an important recovery for us.” Conte emphasized the significance of Kvaratskhelia's return, highlighting the importance of having a full-strength squad as Napoli continues its title push.

Conte also praised his team's resilience and work ethic, stressing that their recent good run is built on solid foundations. He expressed his belief in the players' ability to learn from setbacks and improve, saying that this mindset has been key to their success.

“Shortcuts to success are ephemeral,” he said.

“To build something important, you need solid foundations. Great work can shorten the path, but without those foundations, success doesn’t last.

“I always repeat that I have faith in these guys because I see them every day, then you can't always win, you stumble, but even in the stumble they will try to improve.”

Antonio Conte has reiterated his faith in Napoli's squad, expressing his confidence in the players' ability to continue growing and improving. Conte's trust in his team is evident, as he prepares for the upcoming match against Genoa.

Conte's admiration for his players was clear when he said, “For my part I have maximum confidence in the boys, I can go to war with them. Sporting war.” He praised the squad's maturity and growth, adding, “They are real men and boys who grow and it shows, and I am very happy about this.” Conte's comments highlight his appreciation for the team's progress and his enthusiasm for their future prospects.

Regarding potential transfers in January, Conte indicated that he will leave such decisions to the club. His focus remains on getting the best out of his current squad, and he is eager to see them continue to grow and succeed.

“Let me be clear. I am very calm, but if credible opportunities arise—because you hear so many things—and the club decides or wants to make changes, then we’ll see.”

Conte recognized that Napoli will face a tough challenge when they take on Genoa at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium.

"It’s a classic English-style stadium, with fans right on top of you. It creates a hot atmosphere, but we’ll stick to our game plan and face whatever comes with attention to detail and collaboration.”
