Juventus gets lucky breaks to beat Udinese, scoring twice off the inside of the upright.



Juventus secured a crucial 2-0 victory over Udinese, thanks to a fortunate own goal and Nicolò Savona's rebound.


The Bianconeri were without key players Gleison Bremer, Nico Gonzalez, Douglas Luiz, and Arek Milik. However, Teun Koopmeiners and Kenan Yildiz returned to the starting XI.


Udinese, only two points behind Juventus in the table, was reeling from a midweek collapse against Venezia. Isaak Touré was suspended, while Alexis Sanchez, Thomas Kristensen, Gerard Deulofeu, and Arthur Atta were injured.


Khephren Thuram squandered two early chances, scuffing his finish and ballooning over from 12 yards.


Juventus took the lead in chaotic fashion when Thuram's angled drive bounced off the far post and ricocheted in off Maduka Okoye's back for an own goal.


Udinese almost equalized moments later, but Michele Di Gregorio denied Keinan Davis at the near post.


Instead, Juventus doubled their advantage when Kenan Yildiz's solo effort deflected off the woodwork, and Savona turned in the rebound.


Udinese thought they'd scored after the restart, but the referee spotted a Davis nudge on Federico Gatti, nullifying the goal.


Juventus had chances to extend their lead, but Udinese pressured with a series of corners, including Di Gregorio's save on Davis's header and Lorenzo Lucca thumping the crossbar.


In the final minute, Koopmeiners squandered a chance to seal the win.
