Dangote Refinery Slashes Petrol Price to ₦970/Litre

Dangote Petroleum Refinery has reduced its petrol price to ₦970 per litre, a ₦20 cut from its previous ex-depot price.

The Dangote Petroleum Refinery announced a price reduction for Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), also known as petrol, to ₦970 per litre for oil marketers.

According to Anthony Chiejina, Chief Branding and Communications Officer, the decision to lower the price is a gesture of appreciation to Nigerians for their unwavering support in making the refinery a reality.

Chiejina explained that the new price represents a reduction from the refinery's earlier announced ex-depot price of ₦990, which was introduced earlier this month.

“In addition, this is to thank the government for their support as this will complement the measures put in place to encourage domestic enterprise for our collective well-being,” the statement partly read.

“While the refinery would not compromise on the quality of its petroleum products, we assure you of best quality products that are environmentally friendly and sustainable.

“We are determined to keep ramping up production to meet and surpass our domestic fuel consumption; thus, dispelling any fear of a shortfall in supply.”

The price reduction of ₦20 per litre will provide a welcome cost saving for marketers purchasing petrol from the Lekki-based refinery.
