Gunmen Kill Banker, 2 Others in Abia


Abia State: Banker Victor Udensi fatally shot by kidnappers in Umuahia.



Tragedy struck in Umuahia, Abia State, when Victor Udensi, a banker with Zenith Bank, was brutally killed by suspected kidnappers. The incident occurred on Monday evening at the Isi Court Axis of Olokoro in Umuahia South, while Udensi was shopping.


The assailants, reportedly three armed men who arrived in a tricycle, attempted to force Udensi into the trunk of his car. However, he resisted, trying to flee, and was fatally shot in the back.


In a horrific sequence of events, the attackers then seized another vehicle, shooting and killing the driver who resisted. As they escaped towards Ubakala, they encountered a tricycle operator and shot him dead.


Abia State Commissioner of Police, Danladi Isa, confirmed the incident and assured the public that the police are intensively searching for the perpetrators. Isa vowed that those responsible will face justice. The Commissioner also reiterated the police's commitment to securing the state during the November 2 local government elections.
