Florentino Pérez: Vinicius Junior 'Best Player in the World
Florentino Pérez's Honest Opinion on the Ballon d'Or Winner
“I want you to know that the Real Madrid fans are proud of you, for everything you have had to endure...”
Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez praises Vinicius Junior as the 'best player in the world' after Ballon d'Or snub.
Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez recently held a press conference where he shared his thoughts on the latest Ballon d'Or winner. Manchester City's Rodri took home the prestigious award this year, with Real Madrid's Vinicius Junior coming in second.
Pérez had some interesting comments about Rodri's win, saying: “Ballon d'Or? For sure Rodri is a great footballer and, he is from Madrid, he has our affection. He deserved a Ballon d'Or... but not this year, last year.” The Real Madrid president seemed to imply that Rodri's win was not entirely deserved this year.
However, Pérez's tone changed when discussing Vinicius Junior, who narrowly missed out on the top spot. “This one was for a Real Madrid player,” Pérez said, hinting that he felt Vinicius Junior was the more deserving candidate.
Pérez then addressed Vinicius Junior directly, saying: “Vinicius, you're the best player in the world.” He continued to praise the young player, acknowledging the challenges he has faced: “I want you to know that the Real Madrid fans are proud of you, for everything you have had to endure in many unfair times and moments, all this has made you the player you are today.”
Pérez's words are a testification of Vinicius Junior's incredible talent and perseverance. Despite missing out on the Ballon d'Or, Vinicius Junior remains one of the most exciting and skilled players in the world.
