Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne addresses his contract situation, stating that talks will come, but his current focus is on recovering from injury and regaining his fitness.
Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has spoken about his future at the club, with his contract set to expire in June. When asked about the possibility of signing a new deal, De Bruyne stated, “Talks over my contract will come, if no talks come then it's my last year.” He added, “So I don't know, I'm trying to be honest. People can say or write about it, I can't affect that, I just want to play good football and we'll see what the future holds.”
De Bruyne's current focus is on recovering from injury and getting back to his best on the pitch. When questioned about his contract situation, he replied, “I honestly don't know. We will see.” He explained that his priority is to regain his fitness, saying, “I've put basically everything to the side when I got injured. Now I'd rather still get better first and see how I am, and all the rest will come.”
Despite the uncertainty surrounding his future, De Bruyne is confident that talks with the club will take place. He concluded, “There will be talks, we'll see.”
