UEFA Nations League: Cristiano Ronaldo Strikes Again - Portugal Downs Poland in Nations League

Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 133rd Portugal goal, helping his team defeat Poland 3-1 in the Nations League. Bernardo Silva and an own goal sealed the win.

Cristiano Ronaldo continued his impressive goal-scoring form, netting his 133rd goal for Portugal as they secured a 3-1 victory over Poland in the Nations League.

Ronaldo's Strike

The Al-Nassr forward doubled Portugal's lead, slotting in a rebound after Rafael Leao's shot hit the post. This was Ronaldo's third Nations League goal in three games, following a drought at Euro 2024.

Bernardo Silva opened the scoring with a volley from Bruno Fernandes' knockdown. Portugal looked comfortable until Piotr Zielinski's late strike gave Poland hope.

Sealing the Win

Southampton defender Jan Bednarek scored an own goal, diverting Nuno Mendes' cross into his own net, to ensure Portugal's win.

Debutant Maxi Oyedele

Poland handed an international debut to 19-year-old Maxi Oyedele, born in Salford to a Polish mother. Oyedele joined Legia Warsaw from Manchester United in the summer.

Portugal, with three Nations League wins, faces Scotland, who have lost all three games, at Hampden Park on Tuesday.
