Ogun State Domestic Violence: Ogun Police Arrest 28-Year-Old Woman, Ogunlana Yemisi, for Cutting Husband's Manhood in Heated Domestic Dispute

Ogun State Police Command has arrested 28-year-old Ogunlana Yemisi for allegedly assaulting her husband, 31-year-old Idowu Adebowale, and cutting his private parts with a sharp object. The incident occurred on October 15, 2024, at 4:30 am during a minor disagreement between the couple.

According to SP Omolola Odutola, the police spokesperson, Adebowale reported the incident to the police on October 21, 2024, showing officers the deep cut on his genitalia that he claimed Yemisi inflicted. Yemisi denied the allegations during questioning, but due to the severity of the injury and Adebowale's delayed medical attention, he was provided with a medical form and advised to seek hospital treatment.

The case is currently being investigated, with Yemisi in custody. The police consider this a suspected case of uncontrollable anger leading to domestic violence. The matter will be forwarded to the SCID in Abeokuta for further investigation.

“Following this report, detectives promptly visited the scene, where the suspect was arrested,” the Police Public Relation Officer PPRO stated.

“The wife denied the allegations during questioning, but given the severity of the injury and the length of time the complainant had not sought medical help, he was provided with a medical form and advised to go to the hospital.

“The suspect is currently in custody, and the case will be forwarded to the State Criminal Investigation Department SCID in Abeokuta for further investigation.

“This information will be given detailed investigation, as it is a suspect case of uncontrollable anger, leading to domestic violence.”
