Ogun State Suicide: Ayobami Oshoko takes own life due to hardship.
Tragedy struck in Ogun State when 45-year-old Ayobami Oshoko took his own life due to hardship. The incident occurred at his Mango, Oke-Ata residence in Abeokuta on September 30, around 6:00 am.
According to Ogun State Police Command spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, who confirmed the incident on October 1, Oshoko allegedly ingested insecticide to end his life. Odutola stated that hardship was believed to be the motive behind the tragic act.
The Lafenwa Police Division received a report from Funmilayo, the victim's sister, after she discovered her brother's lifeless body in his room, accompanied by an insecticide container.
“A friend of the deceased visited his home and asked to see him.
“Upon entering the room, he discovered the victim's body on the floor and raised the alarm after finding that the victim had ingested a mixture of insecticide and herbal concoction,” the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) stated.
“He left a note written in Yoruba language, explaining the reasons behind his decision.
“In the note, he expressed frustration with his life and stated that he felt he had no choice but to end it.
“A discreet Investigation is currently underway.”
