Nigerian forces have neutralized over 100 terrorists and apprehended a key commander, Usman Maisaje, along with 182 others, in a series of operations across the country over the past week. This development was announced by Major General Edward Buba, Director of Defence Media Operations, in a statement released on Friday in Abuja.


The successful operations demonstrate the Nigerian military's intensified efforts to curb terrorism and ensure national security. The capture of Usman Maisaje, a notorious terrorist commander, is particularly notable, as it likely disrupts the terrorist organization's leadership structure and potentially yields valuable intelligence.


These accomplishments underscore the effectiveness of the Nigerian military's strategies and coordination. In a major breakthrough, Nigerian troops have rescued 157 kidnapped hostages and apprehended Usman Maisaje, a key associate of notorious terrorist leader Kachalla Boka.         16 fabricated rifles

        5 pump action guns
        16 AK-47 magazines

These accomplishments demonstrate the military's unwavering commitment to combating terrorism and ensuring national security. With Maisaje's cooperation, the troops are poised to disrupt and dismantle terrorist networks, bringing hope to the region.


“Others are 784 rounds of 7.62mm special ammo, 403 rounds of 7.62mm NATO, 164 rounds 7.62 x 39mm ammo, 53 rounds of 9mm ammo, 67 live cartridges, one baofeng radio, 19 vehicles, 23 motorcycles, 35 mobile phones amongst other items,” he added.


Nigeria's military has made significant strides in combating terrorism across the country. Here are the key highlights from their recent operations:


North-East Operations

In the North-East, Operation Hadin Kai has been highly successful, with 54 terrorists eliminated, 71 suspects arrested, and 39 kidnapped hostages rescued within the week. Additionally, troops recovered a cache of arms, and 74 terrorists - including 7 adult males, 17 adult females, and 44 children - surrendered. The air component also conducted air interdiction on terrorists in Bukar Meram around Tumbuns, neutralizing several terrorists and destroying their structures and logistics.


North Central Operations

In the North Central region, Operations Safe Haven and Whirl Stroke have also yielded impressive results. Troops killed 12 violent extremists, arrested 42, and rescued 56 kidnapped hostages.


North-West Operations

Meanwhile, in the North-West, Operations Hadarin Daji and Whirl Punch eliminated 28 terrorists, apprehended 57, and rescued 44 kidnapped hostages. A large cache of weapons was also recovered.


These accomplishments demonstrate the military's unwavering commitment to combating terrorism and ensuring national security. With these successes, citizens can expect improved safety and stability across the region.


The Nigerian military has made significant strides in combating terrorism and oil theft. Recently, troops recovered a substantial cache of items, including 55 cooking ovens, two speedboats, one tricycle, and six mobile phones, as well as several vehicles. Additionally, they seized 712,535 litres of stolen crude oil and 76,800 litres of illegally refined diesel, and apprehended 45 perpetrators of oil theft.


In the South-East region, Operation UDO KA has been highly successful. Within the last week, troops neutralized seven terrorists, apprehended 12 violent extremists, and rescued 18 kidnapped hostages. These efforts demonstrate the military's unwavering commitment to ensuring national security and stability.
