Man Macheted to Death at Lagos-Ibadan Expressway Construction Site: Police Investigate. Incident reported by security guard, probe focuses on deadly altercation.
Sadly, a tragic incident occurred on the Lagos/Ibadan Expressway. Segun Adegbite, 34, was found macheted to death at a construction site near WitchTech Factory. State police spokesperson Omolola Odutola confirmed the incident on October 29.
According to Odutola, “The incident was reported to the Sagamu Police Division by one Adedeji Adegbola...on Monday, October 28, 2024.” Adegbola stated that security guard Hassan informed him of a violent altercation between Adegbite and unidentified persons around 10:00 am.
Upon receiving the report, detectives swiftly arrived at the construction site, where they discovered Segun Adegbite's lifeless body in a pool of blood, bearing multiple machete wounds. According to Omolola Odutola, state police spokesperson, investigators recovered a blood-stained machete at the scene.
Odutola stated, “The corpse was evacuated and deposited at Live-well Morgue for autopsy.” Additionally, she noted that the security guard, Hassan, had fled the scene, likely for his own safety. The police have initiated an inquiry into the murder and are working to identify and apprehend the perpetrators.
