Ligue 1: Marseille-Angers ends 1-1 after red cards, late equalizer

Marseille's Ligue 1 title ambitions suffered a setback as they were held to a stunning 1-1 draw by bottom-dwelling Angers at the Stade Vélodrome.


The match was marked by early discipline issues, with Angers' Lilian Rao-Lisoa receiving a direct red card in the 26th minute and Marseille's Neal Maupay following suit four minutes later.


Despite the setback, Marseille took the lead through English striker Rowe's 51st-minute goal. However, Algerian El Melali equalized just three minutes later with a stunning direct free-kick.
