LaLiga: Espanyol Snap Losing Streak with 2-1 Victory Over Mallorca [GALLERY]

Espanyol returned to winning ways, defeating Mallorca 2-1 at the RCDE Stadium. Goals from Kumbulla and Jofre secured the win despite Raíllo's late strike.

Espanyol ended their three-game losing streak with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Mallorca at the RCDE Stadium. Goals from Kumbulla (18') and Jofre (47') proved decisive.

The hosts started strong, controlling possession and creating scoring opportunities. Kumbulla headed in Jofre Carreras' cross to open the scoring. Mallorca struggled to find their rhythm, managing few clear-cut chances.

After the break, Espanyol remained aggressive, with Jofre doubling the lead in the 47th minute. Mallorca's four simultaneous substitutions in the 60th minute sparked a reaction, culminating in Raíllo's 68th-minute goal.

Despite Mallorca's late pressure and claims for a penalty, Espanyol held on for the win.

In a heartwarming gesture, Espanyol's players took to the pitch accompanied by eleven stray dogs from a local shelter, aiming to raise awareness and find forever homes for the animals. This marks the second consecutive year the team has supported this initiative.
