Kano Hisbah Board Takes Action: Suspended Jigawa Commissioner Declared Wanted Over Marriage Affair Scandal

Auwal Danladi Sankara, the suspended Jigawa State Commissioner for Special Duties, has been declared wanted by the Kano State Hisbah Board. The reason? He failed to show up for a reconciliation meeting regarding allegations of having an affair with a married woman.

Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa, the Commandant General of Hisbah, held a press conference on Monday, October 21, where he emphasized the importance of sitting down with all parties involved before taking further action. However, Sankara reportedly snubbed the invitation, leading to the wanted declaration.

“The commissioner chooses to ignore our moves at tackling the matter at our levels, hence the need to arrest him and prosecute him,” he stated.

Sheikh Daurawa emphasized that the Hisbah Board prioritizes Islamic values and reconciliation in addressing sensitive issues. However, if parties refuse to cooperate, the Board will resort to legal action.
