Bobrisky Arrested: Nigeria Immigration Service confirms celebrity cross-dresser's arrest at Seme border while fleeing country amid EFCC bribery allegations.

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has confirmed the arrest of celebrity cross-dresser, Bobrisky, at the Seme border between Nigeria and Benin Republic.

According to an NIS statement released Monday, Bobrisky (real name Idris Okuneye) was apprehended while attempting to flee Nigeria.

“In keeping with its commitment to securing the borders, Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) intercepted Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju, otherwise known as Bobrisky, at the Seme Border over an attempt to exit the country,” the statement said.

“The Service wishes to inform the public that OKUNEYE IDRIS is a person of interest over recent issues of public concern. He is undergoing interrogation and will be handed over to the appropriate Authorities for further action.

“The Service assures the public that it will continue to be civil and professional in its statutory responsibility of manning the Country's borders.”

Bobrisky faces investigation by a House of Representatives committee, alongside the EFCC and NCS, over bribery allegations.

Self-styled social media activist Martin Otse (VeryDarkMan) leaked an audio recording where Bobrisky allegedly claimed paying EFCC officials N15 million to drop money laundering charges.

Bobrisky is also accused of bribing prison officials to serve his six-month naira abuse sentence in a comfortable apartment outside the prison.
