Brighton recovered from a two-goal deficit to defeat Tottenham 3-2 in a thrilling Premier League match, with Yankuba Minteh, Rutter, and Danny Welbeck scoring in the second half.
Brighton staged an incredible fightback to overcome Tottenham 3-2 at home, erasing a two-goal halftime deficit. Spurs appeared headed for their sixth consecutive win across all competitions.
Tottenham dominated early, with Brennan Johnson scoring his sixth goal in six games after a perfectly timed run and Dominic Solanke's through ball. James Maddison doubled the lead with a curled shot.
However, Brighton transformed after halftime. Yankuba Minteh capitalized on Destiny Udogie's failed clearance from Kaoru Mitoma's cross to pull one back. Mitoma then assisted Rutter's equalizer.
Rutter's persistence paid off with an excellent cross to set up Danny Welbeck's winning header.
Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou expressed shock at the loss, calling it “as bad as it gets.” Brighton's victory marked their first comeback from two goals down at halftime since December 2015.
