UCL: Manchester City Held to Frustrating Draw by Impressive Inter Milan

Manchester City held to 0-0 draw by Inter Milan in Champions League opener, with Kevin De Bruyne injured and Erling Haaland kept quiet.

Manchester City's Champions League campaign began with an unexpected 0-0 draw against Inter Milan at Etihad Stadium, despite dominating possession and creating several scoring opportunities.

Pep Guardiola's side struggled to find their rhythm, particularly after Kevin De Bruyne's injury forced him off at halftime. Inter Milan, however, demonstrated exceptional organization and attacking threat, justifying their status as Champions League dark horses.

Erling Haaland, seeking his 100th goal for City, was largely contained, while Phil Foden and Ilkay Gundogan had chances to break the deadlock but were denied by Inter keeper Yann Sommer.

The draw marked the first time in 40 Champions League home group games that City failed to score.

Match Highlights:

De Bruyne's Injury: Kevin De Bruyne forced off at halftime with an injury.

Sommer's Heroics: Yann Sommer makes crucial saves to deny Phil Foden and Ilkay Gundogan.

Gundogan's Late Chances: Ilkay Gundogan heads straight at Sommer and then over the bar in the dying minutes.
