Athletic Bilbao's quest for a fourth consecutive La Liga win ended with a 1-1 draw vs. Sevilla, courtesy of a late own goal.

Sevilla secured a dramatic 1-1 draw against Athletic Bilbao at San Mames, thanks to a 93rd-minute own goal from substitute goalkeeper Alex Padilla.

Athletic Bilbao dominated the early stages, shrugging off fatigue from their Thursday European tie. Nico Williams' low cross nearly found brother Inaki for the opener, but it eluded him.

Ernesto Valverde's side eventually broke through when Mikel Jauregizar slammed home Alex Berenguer's headed free-kick from the edge of the box, sending the crowd into raptures.

Sevilla goalkeeper Orjan Nyland nearly gifted Athletic a second, but recovered to deny Inaki Williams. The Norwegian stopper's heroics kept Sevilla in contention.

The visitors started the second half strongly, with Dodi Lukebakio's effort cannoning off the post. Athletic's Berenguer and substitute Gorka Guruzeta then spurned chances for a second.

However, deep into stoppage time, Unai Nunez headed Chedira Ejuke's cross onto his own crossbar, and the rebound ricocheted off Padilla into the net, sealing the draw.

Sevilla's late equalizer denied Athletic their fourth consecutive La Liga victory and a spot in the top three. Despite the draw, Sevilla remain winless on the road since mid-April.
