A 19-year-old woman is facing a murder charge after allegedly stabbing her neighbor's 20-year-old son to death in the Ijegun area of Lagos State.

The incident occurred on Monday, September 9, 2024, during a heated confrontation between the suspect and the victim. According to eyewitnesses, the altercation turned deadly when the woman grabbed a broken bottle and fatally stabbed the young man in the neck.

The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the incident, with the Public Relations Officer verifying the details on Wednesday, September 11, 2024. The suspect is currently in custody, facing charges related to the fatal stabbing.

The deceased succumbed to his injuries and died on the way to the hospital, despite desperate attempts to save him.

The Police PRO stated that the suspect has been arrested and is currently in detention, while an investigation is being conducted to determine the incident's circumstances.

The State Police Public Relations Officer said, “On September 9, 2024, a complaint was received from the Ijegun area of the state, reported at Isheri-Oshun Division by a man that a neighbour had an argument with his son.

“The victim was stabbed in the neck with a broken bottle by his neighbor, causing him grievous bodily harm.

“He gave up the ghost during an attempt to rush to a hospital for medical attention.

“The division raced to the scene where the lifeless body of the deceased was seen on the ground, facing up in a pool of blood with a deep cut on his neck.

“The corpse has been removed and deposited at Mainland General Hospital in Yaba for autopsy.”

The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the arrest and detention of a 19-year-old woman suspected of fatally stabbing her neighbor's son in the Ijegun area. The Police PRO stated that an investigation is currently underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.

In a similar incident earlier this year, a middle-aged woman was arrested and detained by the police command for allegedly stabbing her neighbor to death in the Ajegunle area of Lagos State, as reported in February 2024.
