EPL: Nottingham Forest Suffer First Home Defeat to Fulham

Nottingham Forest Fall to Fulham

“We'll avoid discussing refereeing decisions. They deserve to do their job without added pressure...”

Nottingham Forest's unbeaten run ends with 0-1 home loss to Fulham, despite spirited performance at City Ground.

Nottingham Forest indeed suffered a narrow 0-1 loss to Fulham at City Ground today. This defeat breaks Forest's unbeaten start to the season, which had seen them draw three and win two of their first five matches.

Fulham's victory was a hard-fought one, coming on the back of their impressive 3-1 win over Newcastle United last week. The Cottagers have now moved level on points with Forest, and this result will give them a huge confidence boost.

It's worth noting that Forest were without midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White due to suspension, which might have impacted their performance. Despite this loss, Forest have shown remarkable resilience this season, particularly in their 1-0 win over Liverpool.

Nuno Espirito Santo, Nottingham Forest's manager, shared his thoughts on the contentious penalty decision that cost his team the match. When asked about Murillo's challenge on Andreas Pereira, he emphasized, “It wasn't intentional.” However, he refrained from further comment, stating, “We'll avoid discussing refereeing decisions. They deserve to do their job without added pressure.”

Reflecting on the match, Santo expressed frustration and disappointment. “Our first-half performance was subpar,” he admitted. “The game was evenly balanced, but conceding in the second half made it challenging. We lost control, and despite the players' hard work, we couldn't salvage the game. We'll move forward and focus on improvement.”
