Manchester United secures a much-needed Premier League victory at Southampton, with Matthijs de Ligt scoring his first goal and Marcus Rashford ending his 189-day goal drought.
Manchester United rebounded from their recent loss to Liverpool with a convincing 3-0 win at Southampton. Matthijs de Ligt scored his first goal for the club, heading in Bruno Fernandes' cross, just two minutes after Andre Onana saved a penalty.
Marcus Rashford doubled the lead, scoring his first Premier League goal in 189 days, before Alejandro Garnacho sealed the win with a late strike. The victory marks six points in four games for Manchester United.
De Ligt, who joined from Bayern Munich, expressed relief and emphasized the importance of rhythm after playing three games in a week.
Southampton, meanwhile, remains winless in the Premier League, despite a promising start to the game. Tyler Dibling's penalty miss proved costly, and Jack Stephens' late red card compounded their misery.
