Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has hinted at a potential return for left-back Ben Chilwell, after the club failed to secure a transfer or loan move for him during the summer window. Chilwell had been training apart from the team, with the expectation of leaving Stamford Bridge.
However, with no suitable offers materializing, Enzo Maresca has now suggested that Chilwell could be reintegrated into the squad. “We will sit with him and find a solution. He is probably going to be back with us, we will see,” the manager revealed.
“At the moment, he is not training with us. The reason why he was training apart, is because the idea was for him to leave," he added.
Maresca's comments indicate a willingness to work with Chilwell and find a way forward, despite the player's initial desire to leave. With Chelsea's left-back options limited, Chilwell's return could provide a welcome boost to the team's defensive depth.
