Feyenoord defender David Hancko has spoken out against recent media claims that he was tempted to join Atlético Madrid due to a lucrative salary offer. In a candid interview, Hancko denied these rumors, stating, “That's not true.”

Hancko emphasized that his current contract with Feyenoord is already satisfactory, and his decision to stay or leave is not driven by financial gain. He acknowledged that Feyenoord is seeking a higher transfer fee from Atlético Madrid, but clarified that this is beyond his control.

David Hancko said: “Atlético Madrid? I didn't like how the media said my head was turned because of the salary Atleti would have offered... that's not true.

“I already have a great contract here. For me, it's not about the money. I definitely understand that Feyenoord is demanding more money from Atleti; this isn't something in my hands, and I can't do anything about that. It's not a punishment if I stay at Feyenoord. I love this club.”

The Slovakian defender expressed his love for Feyenoord, saying, “I love this club.” Hancko views staying at Feyenoord as a positive option, rather than a punishment, and is focused on his commitment to the team.
