Chelsea agree to sign Joao Felix from Atletico Madrid on a 6-year contract with a 12-month option, beating Aston Villa to the Portugal forward's signature in a £42m + £4.3m deal.

Chelsea have reached an agreement with Atletico Madrid to sign Portugal forward Joao Felix on a permanent deal. The 23-year-old has agreed to personal terms on a 6-year contract, with the option of an additional 12 months, committing his long-term future to the Blues.

Chelsea's swift move for Felix ends Aston Villa's pursuit of the talented forward, with the London club set to complete the deal in the next 24-48 hours. The transfer fee is reportedly £42m, with £4.3m in add-ons, bringing the total to £46.3m.

In a symbolic end to his Atlético Madrid career, João Félix was not included on the bench for his final game with the club. He will become a Chelsea player on a permanent deal later this week, marking a new chapter in his career.

Felix's medical is scheduled for tomorrow, paving the way for his arrival at Stamford Bridge. The Portugal international is seen as a key signing for Chelsea, who had identified him as their top target in the same position as Federico Chiesa.

With Felix's signing imminent, Chelsea fans can look forward to an exciting new addition to the squad, bringing creativity, skill, and goals to Enzo Maresca's team.
