Katsina State lifts curfew imposed during nationwide protests, acting governor appeals for support and cooperation to address security challenges and ensure lasting peace.


Katsina State's acting governor, Faruk Lawal, has lifted the curfew that was imposed in response to the nationwide protests against economic hardship.


The protests, which started on August 1, lasted for several days and turned violent in some states, including Katsina, leading to the imposition of curfews.


In a statement released on Tuesday, the Secretary to the State Government, Abdullahi Faskari, confirmed that the curfew in Katsina has been lifted.


The acting governor's order for lifting of the curfew was to enable people to go about their normal businesses unhindered.


“However, people were cautioned to report any suspicious movement by an individual or group of people to the relevant authorities.”


Acting Governor Faruk Lawal reaffirmed the Dikko Radda-led administration's dedication to addressing the security issues plaguing Katsina State.


Lawal expressed gratitude to the security agencies and the state's residents for their cooperation and understanding during the challenging period.
