Kaduna State Governor imposes 24-hour curfew on Kaduna and Zaria cities due to security concerns, citing criminal hijacking of protests and looting, urging citizens to stay indoors.

Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has imposed a 24-hour curfew on Kaduna and Zaria cities due to security concerns.

According to Samuel Aruwan, Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, the Kaduna State Security Council, chaired by Governor Sani, has determined that criminals have hijacked the protest, engaging in looting and destruction of private and public property.

“In view of this unfortunate development, the Kaduna State Security Council has unanimously resolved to impose a 24- hour curfew on Kaduna and Zaria Metropolises and environs with immediate effect.”

Citizens are urged to remain indoors as security forces take measures to restore safety and security in the affected areas.
