Chelsea have officially signed US-born left-back Caleb Wiley from Atlanta United for £8.5m, with a sell-on clause, and will send him on loan to Strasbourg, mirroring the strategy used for Andrey Santos, to develop his skills in a similar playing style.

Chelsea have confirmed the signing of 18-year-old left-back Caleb Wiley from Atlanta United for a fee of £8.5m, with a sell-on clause included in the deal. The young American has put pen to paper on a contract until June 2030, with the option for an additional year.

In a move reminiscent of Andrey Santos' development plan, Chelsea have decided to send Wiley on loan to Strasbourg, where he will gain valuable experience in a similar playing style. The loan move is set to materialize after the Olympics, with Wiley's consistency and growth in mind.
