Nollywood actress Yvonne Jegede shares a candid insight into her previous marriage, revealing how being the breadwinner led to its demise. 



Yvonne Jegede, a talented Nollywood actress, has bravely shared her personal story of love, financial struggles, and regret. In a recent interview, she opened up about her past marriage to Olakunle, revealing how her role as the primary breadwinner contributed to its downfall.


In February 2018, Olakunle ‘Abounce’ Fawole, the late actress Bukky Ajayi's son, wed Yvonne in a modest but elegant ceremony in Lagos.


The couple first crossed paths in 2004 while working on the popular TV drama series 'Behind the Siege', directed by Tade Ogidan, marking the beginning of their romantic journey together.


Regretfully, Yvonne disclosed in March 2019 that their one-year marriage had failed three months after their son was born.


The ‘Okafor Law’ actress expressed her remorse at choose love over money during a teaser for the upcoming episode of ‘The Honest Bunch' podcast.


Yvonne poignantly shared, “My marriage with Olakunle ended because I was the breadwinner. I chose love instead of money, and I regretted my decision.”
