Police Constable Job Opening Draws 10,000 Applications
THE Police Service Commission (PSC) has announced the release of the list of successful applicants for the constable and specialist cadre roles in the Nigeria Police Force, with a total of 10,000 individuals selected from across the 774 Local Government Areas (LGAs) in the country.
According to Ikechukwu Ani, the PSC spokesperson, 9,000 applicants have been approved for recruitment into the general duty category, while 1,000 applicants have been selected for the specialist cadre.
The PSC chairman, Solomon Arase, emphasized that the selection process was highly competitive and rigorous, aimed at enhancing the capacity and effectiveness of the police force. He explained that the commission selected 10 applicants from each LGA, as advised by the National Assembly, to ensure a fair and representative recruitment process.
In October 2023, the Police Service Commission (PSC) and the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) jointly announced a recruitment drive for constable positions, as well as specialized artisan roles.
The commission received a large number of applications, and in February, 171,956 applicants were shortlisted for computer-based tests as part of the recruitment process for general duty positions.
