PAUL Okoye, one half of the popular Nigerian music duo Psquare, has spoken out about the alarming trend of missing girls and ritual deaths among young women. In a recent statement, he placed blame on online influencers and mothers who promote materialistic values and encourage their daughters to prioritize wealth and status over safety and well-being.

Paul Okoye specifically highlighted the recent case of a Nigerian girl and her Ghanaian friend who traveled to meet a man they met on Facebook, only to fall victim to a tragic outcome. He lamented that as long as parents continue to allow online influencers to shape their daughters' values, more girls will fall prey to such dangers.

The musician criticized the constant emphasis on wealth and material possessions, citing phrases like “Money, money, bill him, bill him, know your worth, know your worth, He must have this and that in his account, blah blah blah!” as examples of harmful online motivations.

Okoye's words serve as a wake-up call to parents and guardians to be more vigilant and protective of their daughters' online activities and influences. By promoting a culture of safety, self-worth, and critical thinking, we can work together to prevent such tragedies from occurring in the future.
